Central School Of Motor Transport, popularly known as CSMT was raised on 8th Jan 1963 vide government of India, ministry of home affairs order no. F-39/18/62-PV dated 8th Jan 1963. CSMT was initially established at Sagar (M.P.) under the supervision of M.P. police and it was taken over by BSF on first Jan 1971 and subsequently shifted to Gwalior. CSMT is only premier institute of its own kind in the country to centre for training of central as well as state police organizational personnel in the field of mechanical transport. Due to available existing infrastructural facilities and state of the art equipment, ministry of home affairs, Government of India has declared this institute as “Centre Of Excellence”.
The institute is approved by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi and
affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal in respect of syllabi
and examinations. Funds for recurring and non-recurring expenses are provided from
